The climate is literally the hottest issue every summer. June 2022 went into the record books, registering the highest temperatures recorded over the world´s land areas, with sweltering heatwaves in Europe, including the UK, China, and parts of the US.

The last eight years have been the eight hottest years on record. Antarctic sea ice levels are at a record low. And 2022 is on track to become the five hottest years in recorded history. (https://www.carbonbrief.org/state-of-the-climate-2022-on-track-for-a-summer-of-extreme-heat/).

News headlines of heatwaves, forest fires, hurricanes, and other extreme weather appear in the media each year.

For those who do not experience these events firsthand,
it is easy to understand that they become a part of all other noise and things that don´t concern them.  

In addition to an increasing climate crisis, energy security has also become a hot topic. Many European countries that have been dependent on Russian gas reserves will now struggle to heat their citizens' houses for the winter. With this new political environment, now more than ever, the world is looking to sustainable, renewable energy sources as well as politically stable energy providers such as Norway.

It is not a simple story; there are no simple solutions nor simple answers.

What we know at NEMS is that we want to be part of the solution.
