What is HOCNF?

HOCNF stands for Harmonised Offshore Chemical Notification Format. It is the standard format used by chemical suppliers to provide national authorities with environmental information about chemicals intended for offshore use and discharge.

HOCNF documentation includes information about product composition, physical properties, hazard classification, biodegradation, bioaccumulation and aquatic toxicity.

National authorities use this information when pre-screening offshore chemicals and assessing applications for use and discharge.
